About the JAM

Jerry Jam 2019 will take place July 19-21 at beautiful Klay Knoll Farm in Bath, NH.

Jerry Jam is the North East’s best loved music festival, celebrating the life of Jerry Garcia and the music of the Grateful Dead.

Jerry Jam began in 1996 as a small gathering of friends paying tribute to the life of Jerry Garcia and the music of the Grateful Dead.  After 5 years the gathering had outgrown the Barn where it began, in Bethlehem, NH.  It seemed that maybe the Jam had run its course.  That’s when the power and passion of community rose up!  Friends of the founder offered their larger properties to keep the vibe alive.

This is when Jerry Jam began its transformation from a very small, one-day gathering of 50 or so friend, to a full-on, multi-day music festival, now with over 3,000 kind souls attending.  We believe it is our humble beginnings and slow growth that make our festival unique, and we strive to maintain that “down-home”, grass roots, organic atmosphere.

We strive to keep Jerry Jam family friendly.  All of the organizers have children that have grown up with Jerry Jam.  To maintain this atmosphere we ask attendees not to overindulge!  This is a BYOB event, but we have very low tolerance for un-family-friendly behavior.  Let the MUSIC be the drug!  Seriously!!  Our motto has always been “Kind Minds ~ Good Times.”  We believe that a kind, positive neighbor-helping-neighbor attitude is the reason our festival gets great press and reviews.  So PLEASE, if you come to our festival, respect your neighbor and respect our number one priority of maintaining a safe, secure, and family friendly environment.

In 2013, Jerry Jam rose to new heights.  We were honored that Melvin Seals and JGB wanted to play our little festival!  In 2018, we were thrilled to welcome Melvin Seals and JGB back for their 5th year at Jerry Jam.  Stay tuned for our 2019 lineup!

Gates for Jerry Jam 2019 will open on Friday 7/19 at 9 AM. The festival runs through Sunday evening, 7/22.  You are welcome to camp over on Sunday night. Please, do not arrive on Thursday as you will be turned away! We cannot accommodate festival goers until gates open on Friday morning.

As always, we are pleased to offer your favorite food and craft vendors, and our wonderful Kids Tent!!

Kind Minds and Good Times!!!

  1. I have a stupid question. While I understand this is a tribute event to the Dead, will the band performing at the event be covering other artists at all or playing original music???????

    1. Hey Shawn, we have lots of different bands. Several of them are Grateful Dead/Jerry Garcia tribute bands, and there is a lot of GD music, but there’s other kinds of music and original music as well. Something for everyone.

      1. I am handi capped what provisions do you have for me? When do I have to show up Some festivals have me come a day early? I have my own port a let with me and a couple more to help me get around some do you have carts for some transportation to some of the shows?

      2. We have a handicappped-accessible parking and camping area. When you arrive, ask to be directed to the handicapped parking & camping. The camping area is close to the stage and on flat ground for ease of access. Carts are not provided.

  2. My wife and I will be traveling in New England with our 37′ motor home, and would love to take my Jerry doll to this event. Before I purchase tickets, is there any problem with this size RV?

    1. RV passes will be the same as last year- $50 for small RVs under 22′ and $75 for large RVs 22’+. RV passes will go on sale with the regular early bird presale tickets- look for them in January.

  3. Do VW buses need an RV parking spot? And if not, can we camp with our bus or is the tent area separate from the parking? We usually put up a 2-man along side the bus. Thanks!

    1. VW Buses do not need RV passes. Our VWIP bus parking/camping area has limited space, so we don’t encourage tent camping in it- just because we want to be able to fit all the buses- but that being said, you may be able to find a spot for a small tent.

  4. Can you camp at the bottom of the hill on stage ground level.
Walking disability…getting up and down hills all day would be a problem,
    Thank you.

  5. You folks should really try to get Billy Strings for next year,if havent heard of this guy-band-you should check into him,he s been around the last few years and is FANTASTIC and probably reasonable to get from Dead to spacegrass to classic bluegrass to classic rock and this cat is building a loyal base-thank you for a real good time

  7. Hi there! Couldn’t find a place to email, wondering if tickets can be purchased for 2018 yet? My Sister in Law LOVES this show and I missed it this year because you were sold out, would love to get us all tickets for Christmas! Much thanks 🙂 katieski10@gmail.com.

  8. Hi, I heard about the event whilst I was at A VW campout in PA for Halloween. When do tix go on sale for 2018? I know Christmas has been and gone but the jerry-Christmas page is ‘page not found’, wasn’t sure if the link was dead or if you took the page down after xmas. Thanks

  9. So if I’m clear, if two of us are coming in a VW camper, do we only need to buy one weekend pass? It says pilot is free. Thanks.

  10. just got an 89 vanagon. first road trip. i may have two guests. how do i purchase tickets? Just 2? since van and driver is gratis?

      1. Hi
Thanks for the quick response about the tent trailer. so its only a little bit bigger than a regular tent. but does not qualify as a tent you are saying? I purchased a ticket thinking I was all set. I see there are no small rv tickets. Humm– what to do?

  11. Why does the Jerry Jam discriminate against the handicapped. I always knew I would be discriminated against but I never thought it would be at Jerry Jam. Last year I saw first hand that you are not considering anyone disabled. And when I tried to help I was shut down. It was hot everyone walked down to the water and went swimming. Left us strained at our camps hot. Can’t go to see the show if you can’t walk a chair here and there. Totally inconsiderate to not even put a few places to sit in the shade. I came with the means to help my fellow disabled folks that everyone just seems forget totally about. I was insured and a responsible 63years old. I came to help my fellow Handicapped. They wouldn’t let me take it off the truck. Sad! We don’t want special treatment just a level playing field. If you are truly about LOVE and PEACE then prove it make a change.
