DJOLIBA KAN

Djoliba Kan

Djoliba Kan (Voice of the River Djoliba) brings African rhythms from a small village on the banks of the River Djoliba to big and small villages throughout the U.S.

Led by joyful djembefola Namory Keita, the energy and excitement of traditional drum and dance festivals in Namory’s village of Sangbarala, Guinea are brought to you through the melodious and explosive rhythms of the djembe and dunun drums.

Groove to the beat as a dynamic group of musicians dedicated to the music and culture of West Africa rip it up on stage!

Led by Sangbarala native Namory Keita, Djoliba Kan brings West African rhythms and western culture together through music, song, and dance. We come from varied backgrounds that are joined by our common love for the music of West Africa. There is a natural joy in the people of West Africa, and we think that joy is largely due to the music and rhythms that are part of everyday life there. We are all grateful for the joy the music brings us, and we love seeing the joy in the faces of our audiences. Music, joy, life – come experience it with us!
